Center for Canine Protein-Losing Enteropathy

Our Mission

At the Center for Canine Protein-Losing Enteropathy (CCPLE), we are dedicated to improving the lives of dogs affected by protein-losing enteropathy (PLE) through comprehensive support, education, and research. Our mission encompasses these three core pillars:

Education

We provide accessible, evidence-based information about canine protein-losing enteropathy to both pet owners and veterinary professionals. Through our educational resources, we empower families to better understand their dog’s condition and help veterinarians stay current with the latest diagnostic and treatment approaches.

Support

We support pet owners navigating this challenging diagnosis, as well as veterinarians seeking additional expertise, by providing educational resources on protein-losing enteropathy. Our goal is to help bridge the knowledge gap between specialists and general practitioners, so that every dog can receive the most appropriate care possible, regardless of location or resources.

Research Advocacy

We are dedicated researchers who both lead independent clinical studies and contribute as collaborators to research initiatives across the field of canine PLE. We bring our scientific knowledge and research insights directly to CCPLE, ensuring that the latest discoveries and advancements inform our educational materials. As we grow, we aim to establish our own research initiatives at CCPLE to further advance understanding and prevention and treatment of PLE.

Together, we envision a future where canine PLE is better understood, more effectively treated, and where every affected dog and their family has access to the knowledge and support they need.
